The News – Call to stop hate-mongering

Lahore, 6 March 2017. Extremism, terrorism and sectarian violence can be eradicated by mass movement and the political and religious leaders will have to contribute to operation Raddul Fasad.

These views were expressed by prominent clerics on the occasion of ‘Caravan of Peace and Security’ under Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC) from Lahore to Dera Ghazi Khan.

Operation Raddul Fasad is being supported by everywhere, he said, adding, “We will have to stop those who spread hate through their ideology.” He said the government would have to concentrate on national narrative. Efforts for national narrative under the leadership of General Nasir Janjua will have to be acknowledged, he expressed.

PUC Voice-Chairman Maulana Ayub Safdar said mosques, Madaris and religious class always struggled against terrorism and extremism.

We will stand together against terrorism with the government and Army, he added. PUC Punjab President Maulana Shafi Qasmi said that on April 12, the Second Annual Message of Islam Conference would bring people together to establish unity against terrorism, extremism and sectarianism internationally.
