Edinburgh Evening News – Leith rallys in show of support for Sikh community

Edinburgh showed its true colours as hundreds of people turned out to show support for two places of religious worship which were attacked on Tuesday.

Edinburgh – Lothian – Scotland, 31 August 2018. Organised by the Muslim Women’s Association of Edinburgh, a peaceful vigil brought together the community outside the Gurdwara in Leith.

The Sikh community of Edinburgh held a peaceful vigil alongside local councillors and community members outside the Gurdwara.

The response was to an early morning petrol bomb attack on both the Guru Nanak Gurdwara in Sheriff Brae and the Methodist Church on Junction Street. A 49-year-old man was in court yesterday on malicious fireraising charges.
